Will the Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge support VoLTE, WiFi calling

Title says it all. What is the stance on the newest Samsung flagships supporting VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling?

They should. The S6 series does (at least my S6 Edge+ does).

At this moment on VoLTE works. I have called many times with LTE still there and never changed.
WiFi Calling does not unfortunately as the setting is there.

Just to clarify, VoLTE works on my S6E+, not Wi-Fi calling.

i m confirming S7 and S7 edge not purchased directly from Rogers DO NOT SUPPORT VOLTE. ROGERS IS AWARE OF THIS. THEY BLOCK NON ROGERS UNLOCKED DEVICES BY IMEI

That is correct. It's not that they are blocking it, they want to make sure it works first on their devices before going to unlocked ones. Just like the iPhone models.

this sucks big time. i paid $1000 for my phone at Samsung store and now cant use it on Rogers network

Actually you can still use your device on the Rogers network but the VOLTE won't work. You can still use the internet, call, text and such. Thus means u can still use it! 🙂

Who knows. That's something they won't say until the phones get it. Until then VOLTE isn't compatible with any non Rogers S7/S7 edge models.

its more than that.. call display also don't work. how many other features are blocked.. this is not fair. if i knew i wouldn't have bought $1000 phone from Samsung

That can easily be fixed if you call Rogers tech support. Call display should work on non Rogers branded devices.. I can confirm this as my buddy has the a silver S7 edge he got from the states and all works but the VOLTE. You need to contact Rogers tech support and speak to someone that knows how to add the code. You need to tell them to disable the call display and re add it in the account. Restart your device and then u shall work. Also add the Rogers APN settings for internet and such. Also check the settings as well.

@RogersArthur and @Meowmix didn't want to start a new thread for this question but can one of you guys tell me why we are always dead last at getting updates? We're still on the February security patch in April. Just about everyone and their sister got the software update that fixes the screen touch issue and camera bug but us. I'm really curious as to why?

I have asked that my self many times. Telus will release their security update in the up coming days. Rogers has not said anything yet about it. Hopefully we get the new update.

Ok, that seems good.... As an aside, does the iPhone 6s/6s+ have VoLTE support as well? I made calls that looked like they stayed on LTE on my 6s+ a few times but I wasn't 100% sure.

You can determine if VoLTE is enabled on your phone by the following steps;

1. Tap Phone(dialer) > Keypad tab
2. Tap More (on the top right corner) > Settings
3. Tap Use VoLTE when available or Do not use VoLTE
