Hello. I want to buy a cell phone and it supports 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and 3G: WCDMA 850/2100MHz.
I only want to use 3G.I know Rogers does not support WCDMA, but are there any Canadian mobile networks that supports the WCDMA 850/2100 band?
Sorry if I sounded a little confusing. I'm not good with this mobile stuff haha.

Hello Mehrab
WCDMA and HSPA are 3G. Rogers supports it. You will indeed get EDGE and 3G. Rogers has HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
Rogers's frequencies for HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900 MHz

Hello. Thanks for the reply. So, just to clarify, Rogers DOES support the WCDMA 850/2100Mhz band?
Will I be able to use 3g on the phone to it's fullest extent?

Hello Mehrab
Which device is this if u don't mind me asking? The specs you have given will work with Rogers but mind you that u need to input Rogers APN settings in order to use it on Rogers. That's pretty easy.

The name of the device is: BML S50. These are the specifications of the device: http://gsmarena-mobile.blogspot.ca/2014/06/bml-s50-mtk6572-dual-core-10ghz-512mb.html

Hello Mehrab
So basically its a replica of a Galaxy S5 but made from another manufacturer lol.
Those specs work with Rogers 🙂

Lol yes. The price is nice as well haha, let's just hope it will be as durable as it sounds.
Anyways, thanks a lot for your help! It really helped a lot. Would I still need to change the APN settings, in order for it to work with Rogers?

Hello Mehrab
Yes you still need to input Rogers APN settings in the device to work with Rogers. Also make sure this device is unlocked as well! ( which it should be!)

Hello all,
I want to purchase a phone with these frequency band, I'm wondering would it work with rogers
Network standard WCDMA / GSM
Network Frequency GSM 850/900/1800 / 1900MHz
WCDMA 900 / 2100MHz
Or
2G:GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G:WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz
Which of these group would work?
Do I need to have all the frequency require by rogers or just one or two will be fine.
What frequency band rogers use and require in order for a cell phone to work here.
Would it work with LTE network?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Tchan
It would be the second one. LTE is a different signal which is 2600 for LTE. It would need to show u that in order to get LTE. Those above only give u EDGE and 3G.

Would this phone with these bands work with rogers?
2G Network GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network TD-SCDMA 1900 / 2000
4G Network TD-LTE 1900 / 2300 / 2600
Thanks in advance

Hello TChan
Yes indeed it will as those are the same networks Rogers uses here in Canada. 🙂

I am looking into buying myself a speciality watch phone from an Italian company. The phone operates on the following frequencies:
4G LTE (1700/1800 Mhz)
3G WCDMA, HSDPA (850/1800/2100 Mhz)
2G GSM, GPRS, EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz)
I know I am good with GSM, and the phone will work fine in 3G (as it uses the 850 MHz frequency). However, information on Rogers' LTE compatibility is all over the place when I researched the Internet. Several sites indicated that I should be OK with Band 4 (1700 MHz), while others indicated I require a combination of Bands 1 and 4 (1700/2100 MHz), and even when I called for technical help I was informed that I required Band 7 (2600 MHz).
I am so confused at all the different requirements - I would be grateful to anyone who can help me sort this out before I decide to buy the phone.

2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100MHz
Is it compatible with the Rogers network?
