Incorrect Overages on Data Roaming Charges

Chef_Paramesh
I'm here a lot

Rogers started charging me unreasonable data roaming from last 4months .I endup paying more dollars for usa data roaming even though I didn't left the country .I stay close to the border and they catch USA network for service.i am extremely disappointed every time I have to call every month from last 4 billing cycle and stay on the line for them to crect false charges.waste of time and money, I feel like I got scammed.
As false charges are of 200$ roaming .still rogers didn't given me compensation as they promised after sloving the issue.first of all they didn't even fix the issue

@Chef_Paramesh : There is nothing Rogers can do about this.  If you wish to avoid USA roaming, set your phone's Network settings to "Rogers" service instead of "automatic". How you do this will depend on your phone, but it's in your settings somewhere.  This will prevent roaming charges when you're close to the border.  Previous discussion thread below:

Re: Incorrect Overages on Data Roaming Charges

I called the agents to block my roaming ,no one give me the perfect solution to avoid charges ,they said the complaint has to get resolved first so they would stop the charges.i paid for 4months roaming ,why I didn't get charged before that period I wonder why ?

Re: Incorrect Overages on Data Roaming Charges

From. Last one year I am at the border why only some months they charge accidentally some months don't? And agents promised to get cleared charges and compensation for the inconvenience and accidental charges which never happened all they offer is extra 5 gb data for next 2 months it doesn't make any sense for the value of time and money they compensate the free 5gb data which is not matching for the people who has 30gb data plan already

Re: Incorrect Overages on Data Roaming Charges

@Chef_Paramesh 1. You may not have reached a US provider until recently.

2. Rogers may have done a courtesy by waiving previous charges.

3. The agent can't do anything about the roaming charges as I previously mentioned. It has nothing to do with Rogers.  They may have provided compensation, but they only do that once. They're not going to do it again and again.

4. Change the setting in your phone to "Rogers" and you will not encounter this problem again. (the perfect solution)

This was discussed in detail in the link I provided previously. Please take the time to read it:

In that case I better me change the carrier's provider as no responsibility taken care ,I already mentioned I called agent multiple times and asked them to change or block the roaming ,and I even changed connections settings .it's all rogers poor connections not having enough band length.i have been using 6 years rogers I m surprised to see the charges .and yes everytime I was at same location for the primary work on candian border from last one year

set your phone to manual network and select rogers as your provider,  that way you will never get charged roaming. even complaining wont solve it, just do this and move forward

Re: Incorrect Overages on Data Roaming Charges

To move on first slove the issue on charges then you suggest the solution, keeping additional charges doesn't retain any customers.when u call agents they set roaming network off and already changed settings still I got charged so first you understand the scenario what about all charges I paid unnecessary
