DO NOT GET THE PREMIUM PROTECTION PLAN

I'm here a lot

DO NOT GET THE PREMIUM PROTECTION PLAN - Read TrustPilot reviews. Its terrible. It's questionable if after paying $384 over two years I'll even get my free screen. Which I only need because of the SAVE AND RETURN program.

DO NOT DO SAVE AND RETURN - Ive had at least 5 different iphones since camping out for the 4S. Each time, ive just turned it in and upgraded. So when they asked me if I wanted to pay half and turn it in I went for it. So then the store guy starts holding it under a light and acting like he just opened a sea-can shipping container to find dead people in it. "ohhhhhhh... thats so baaaaddd." Look at it under the light! Have you had it in your pocket with keys before?? Whyyyyyy??? Oh man.. Yup. they wont take that back. best to recycle it now.

I have been trying to get a screen replacement for a phone covered by Premium Device Protection. In the Likewize page (very glitchy) it tells me to go to MyRogers > Support > Device Toolbox. in fact, those instructions are relatively prolific throughout the rogersphere. There is no device toolbox. Apparently to get a screen replacement I have to run diagnostics. ok. so where's that at? Go to myrogers, choose support and device toolbox. so i spent 5 min wrestling ANNA, to get to the queue for a real person, who clearly had no idea. "Rogers Diagnostics" Myrogers. run diagnostics.

"what kind of phone?"

"iphone"

--Instructions for running ios iphone diagnostics. I am so sad. Rogers has been awful. Likewize is super sketchy. and the guy at Rogers store was a slime ball that didnt keep his word on like 3 tasks, and upgraded me to a 400GB wireless plan.

Still hanging out in the chat, waiting for help. I have left and returned. Looked all over mergers for Device Toolbox. Google Search "device toolbox myrogers" and 100 variants of those terms. Nada. So I think that Likewise (haha - even autocorrect doesn't like their filthy "z") set up a process way back when they shook hands, and it needs you to run this diagnostic tool, that actually rogers doesn't support anymore.

Re: DO NOT GET THE PREMIUM PROTECTION PLAN

Resolved. Thanks to Simram the tech support agent (most likely also a robot, but not Anna), I know now that Likewize will send you on a wild goose chase into myrogers to run a diagnostics tool that doesn't exsist.

I've been with Rogers since 2004, this will be my 5th iPhone. each time, ive simply returned the phone and used it to purchase a new phone. Last time, the product was called "Infinite", which is now "return and save". No longer is Rogers recycling or reusing the phone, but they resell it to their friends, Likewize. It is put under a microscope, and if not found in MINT condition, it will be rejected and you cannot return it. Keep a phone for 24 months, but probably in a lockbox Luckily, physical damage is covered under an insurance program operated by a company called.....Likewize! yeah, the phone reseller.

So way back to a year ago, they together built an online portal for service. One of the steps is to log on to MyRogers, choose Support, and use "Device Toolbox" to run a rogers proprietary "diagnostics". So this tool no longer exists. Nobody on tech support has even heard of it. But that doesnt mean its not still built into the likewize process. I'm actually wildly uncomfortable that a company that misspells likewise has my account info.

Worst of all, this communications giant has an absolutely no real online tools. Except to buy more stuff. The end of a several-hour boat ride is to show up at the store with the car salesmen, or phone them. miserable app, terrible website, clueless employees guessing at solutions to very basic processes that they built, but upselling you like hot apple pies for 1.99. Like, is there even a plan thats less than 80GB now? ughh. im rambling.
