Closed our old account and it was Credited but it was $90 less

Good Morning,

March 16th 2024, I went and switched our TV & internet bundle and swapped back to rogers on my cell with BYOD. Turns out they created a brand new account and the old one was still active. When I noticed the payments 2 months later I called to have them cancel the account and reinstate the payments.

They said we need proof of return of equipment. So they'll have to check the returns list and get back to us. I already had the Canada post notification for March 20th but they wanted to check it themselves.

We got an email week of May 6th saying all good. Money was corrected. But when we checked it wasn't close to the amount and it was $90 less.

I understand that we overlapped by 2 days outside of the billing cycle it could have even been 6 days if you take it from Mar 14th to 20th. But we have no record of how the credited amount was worked out because from our standpoint 6 days of an account is still half of the $90.

I've been on the phone and now they've told me I have to go talk to the bank to get a payment reversed but which amounts do I use. The amount that's credited in the account or the 2 x monthly payments we were charged?
