My husband and i bought our phones 3 years ago from Shaw with the proviso that when they were paid off, we would have no further charges monthly UNLESS we deliberately and personally paid for extra data. We also paid nothing to use our home wifi to browse on our phones.
With Rogers, we are now being charged each month anywhere from 30.00+ to 50.00+, for using our wifi and are automatically being charged for Shaw Basic.
What gives? Why are we now on a totally different "plan", one we did not agree to? Rather skeevey in my books.

Hello @arleear ,
Welcome to the Rogers Community and thank you for your post. I understand your Shaw to Rogers migration left you with some questions or concerns with regards to your billing.
Are you aware that you can reach our dedicated migration team for former Shaw customers, through chat, here? They are available 7 days a week, from 12 PM until midnight (ET).
If you would like us to take a deeper look into this matter, feel free to message us at @CommunityHelps when you have time. To know how to send us a private message, take a look at this blog.
I'm confident we'll be able to help you figure out what happened. Thanks!
