Re: rogers xfinity app for fire stick

I am happy to announce that the Rogers Xfinity Stream App is now available on Amazon Fire TV and it can be downloaded from the Amazon Appstore!

Thank you for helping out the Community with a workaround while we worked on bringing this feature to our customers officially @aharkies!

I've been around

Could this hopefully mean Apple TV could be coming?

Tested the new app on both firesticks and work great. This is great news and a game changer for Rogers.

I've been here awhile

Yup tested here too. Works great, just make sure you don't download the one that says Shaw.

Also wondering if this will only work if you're on your home network?

Re: rogers xfinity app for fire stick

Hi - the only one I seem to be seeing is the Shaw one. I am in Atlantic Canada. I just searched on Rogers in the appstore and only had one show up. When installed, it wanted me to authenticate on the Shaw website (guess I got the wrong version). Should everyone see 2 versions of the app when they go to the app store?

Yes on AppStore in firestick you should see 2 options - one white with red text (Shaw) and 2nd red and white text. I’m in Toronto and using firestick 4K max.

I just tried to find the Xfinity app (Red) on an older 1st gen firestick and it is not in the AppStore. So you are likely using an older firestick. Works on my fire TV and Firestick 4K max - not on the old one.

Re: rogers xfinity app for fire stick

Can someone please dm me with the solution much appreciated

Hello @pipete ,

Regretfully, that's not info that we are privy to yet, but if anything is confirmed, we'll be sure to let the community know! 🙂

Thanks,

I'm here a lot

The Rogers Xfinity Stream app is finally here.  I installed it on a Fire TC and two Fire TV Stick 4K and it worked.  Before installing, I removed previously installed version that I had sideloaded to ensure the greatest chances of success for the install.  I instaled the application from the Amazon APPSTORE without any issue.  I lauched the Rogers Xfinity Stream app and the first time it ashed for an activation at a apecific Rogers web site: this all worked fine the first time but it would not work for the second install on a different Fire Stick 4K.  I had to use an alternative browser to activate at the specifid site.  I suspect some data is cached or abad cookie.

THANK YOU ROGERS FOR FINALLY COMING THRU WITH A FIRE TV APP!!!!!

Is the Rogers Xfinity Stream app any different than the one you can sideload?   Are there functional or operational differences?

Re: rogers xfinity app for fire stick

App won't detect either my firestick or my LG smart TV and won't allow screen mirroring.

Re: rogers xfinity app for fire stick

Hello @jaqstar!

Are you able to see any other devices to cast to or is it just these two devices that aren't being shown in the app? What troubleshooting steps have you taken thus far?

Could you please provide us with additional details on the mobile device you're attempting to cast from? What is the make/model of the device and what operating system version are you currently running?
