Reset/Upair XR15 Ignite Voice Remote

I bought a new receiver (switched from Sony to Yamaha). My Ignite remote no longer controls the volume and power functions anymore. I need to clear the codes in the XR15 remote so I can pair it to my new receiver. Going into remote setup doesn't allow me to choose a new receiver. Need some help on how to accomplish this task. Trying to find information on this seems a lot harder than it should be.

However, you should also be able to redo the TV and AV receiver programming through Settings: it's in Settings / Remote Settings / Voice remote pairing

and can enter the setup code into your remote directly, without having to reset or go through any setup prompts.

One other thing: Some users have also reported problems getting the Ignite remote working with some AV receivers.  For example, many Yamaha receivers have separate, discrete On and Off power buttons.  However, the Power button on the Ignite Voice Remote can only toggle power on and off, and some equipment lacks support for a single-button power toggle.

Thanks for the reply. I will attempt this when I get home later tonight. My brother has the same Yamaha receiver as the new one I bought and everything works fine with his Ignite service. Like I said above my issue is figuring out how to unpair my old Sony receiver so I can pair my new Yamaha receiver. When I go into remote settings it starts with TV, which I don't want to touch because it works fine, next should be receiver but it doesn't come out when I hit skip on the TV pairing. It just goes back to the remote settings screen. Can't find where the receiver pairing screen is.

You will only get prompts to program an audio receiver if you redo the setup for the TV first.

If you don't want to do this, you can also follow the "Setup your Remote" instructions on https://www.urcsupport.com/urc_product/rogers-xr15/ .  Under Step 1, click "Add New Audio" to find the setup code for your audio device.  Under Step 2, click "Audio Device Control" for instructions on how to program the setup code for your receiver into your remote.

Thanks for the help but the solutions listed seemed to complicated for just wanting to relearn a different audio source. I had more luck searching under the Xfinity title instead of Ignite. 

The solution is quit simple to relearn a different audio source. You simply press the Rogers button and mute button at the same time for about 5 seconds after the red then green flashes you enter the 5 digit code associated with your audio source and it worked. Code for my Yamaha was 32467.

The Xfinity remote support site does have nice, straightforward instructions.  Thanks for posting that!  I am also glad to hear that you were able to get your Ignite Voice Remote working with your new receiver!
