Extended coverage

Lenora1432
I've been around

I just signed up for Rogers mobile yesterday because it seemed like a good deal and according to the coverage map I should access to the 5G network in my area. I have had the service for just over 24 hours and I've only been able to connect to the Rogers network for about 2 hours total. I've also noticed that even though I have wifi calling turned on my phone says I'm connected to Rogers-EXT more often than I am to my home wifi, and I'm worried I'll overuse it and get banned.
Why are you falsely claiming you provide service to an area when you don't? And what are the chances I'll be penalized for overusing extended coverage when, according to your map, I should have full rogers coverage? I'm seriously considering switching to another provider already, what's the point of paying for a service that doesn't work?

Hello, @Lenora1432

Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums!

We know how important it is to have a strong cell network signal in your area. It's possible that your phone is picking up a stronger signal. You can turn off automatic network selection on your device and choose to only connect to the Rogers network. This will prevent you from connecting to the EXT network so you won't have to worry about potentially getting banned.

I do need to advise that if you are in an area where there if no Rogers signal at all then your device would have no service. You would need to toggle the automatic network selection back on to regain service.

I hope this helps!
