email from others to my rogers account is bouncing

I've been here awhile

Hi

I got contacted by an employer that indicates messages to my account are bouncing back.  This does not happen to other senders.  The error message they get is below.  Anybody has a suggestion who to talk to about this or how to fix it?

 

Error message they get:

 

Your message wasn't delivered. Despite repeated attempts to deliver your message, a connection to the remote server was closed abruptly.

Contact the recipient by some other means (by phone, for example) and ask them to tell their email admin that it appears that your email system is unable to connec to their email system. Give them the error details shown below. It's likely that the recipient's email admin is the only one who can fix this problem.

For Email Admins
This often indicates the recipient's firewall SMTP fixup setting or other firewall settings are preventing the SMTP protocol negotiation from succeeding.

Good afternoon @ldan613!

 

If this is only happening with this one sender, it may also indicate an issue on their end. Are you certain that you're receiving all of your emails or do you suspect that other emails may be missing as well?

 

If you're still using SMTP, I would suggest updating your settings to use IMAP instead.

I've been here awhile

They are the only sender who has indicated this is happening.  May be missing others but I have no way to know it unless they report it.

I have checked and I am using IMAP.  

I have the full content of the error message the sender is getting.  Because it includes email addresses I rather not post it in a public forum, but is there anybody with technical expertise to have a look or tell me what to look at?

Good morning @ldan613!

 

While I don't typically suggest this, the error is making mention of a firewall. Have you tried temporarily disabling your firewall to see if it allows the email through?

The email is not hitting the mailbox, and we check the mail in the online application. The only firewall involved would be the Yahoo one, I guess. Which I cannot control, of course.
