New Netgear Modem

Majd
I've been here awhile

Hi I get this modem from Amazon NETGEAR Gigabit Cable Modem (32x8) DOCSIS 3.1
I have rogers modem at my main floor but I am wondering if I can add another modem through the Co-ax port to my basement

You will not be able to do that through Rogers.  First, you can only have one modem/gateway activated on your Internet service, and Rogers will only activate equipment that they provide.

You might be able to activate that Netgear modem on a separate Internet service through a TPIA provider (such as Start, Teksavvy, Ebox, Oxio, etc.) but I think that you will also need to subscribe to that service with a different address from your main Rogers account.  (e.g. add "-A" to your house address to denote a basement apartment.)

@Majd  Is that Netgear cable modem even on the list of Rogers-approved hardware?  I presumed that you checked first before buying it.  If not, the TPIA provider will not be able to activate it on the Rogers network.  Also, even if the modem has been approved for use on the Rogers network, some TPIAs have a short list of modems that they support with their service.
