How do I open a port on my gigabit modem

I am trying to open a port on my modem but IO cant even seem to get into the modem at all Ive typed http://192.168.0.1/ in the address bar and only google shows. Please give me instructions on how I can open a port and port forward as well Thank you

Would help to know what service you are running?   Just rogers internet? Or Ignite, etc?? Could make a difference.

With ignite, technically your modem is now at 10.0.0.1

You can confirm this, by going to a command prompt, and typing 

ipconfig

Under your active adapter, it will show Default Gateway


All that being said, you dont access the port forwarding via anything like that anymore on Ignite.  Its all locked down on that interface.
You need to manage it though the ignite wifi app.  it used to have a web interface.. but not any longer either.  Must be managed through a phone/tablet app 😞

I have ignite, so the rogers app on my phone will let me do everything I want to do?
