Hey everyone!!
I am happy to announce that Samsung this morning announced the Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge!. Both device's seem to have amazing specs! Including memory SD card slot, water resistant and more!!
1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Samsung Galaxy S7 &S7 Edge to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; Samsung S7 Black, S7 Silver or S7 Edge Black. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .
- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.
2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.
3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.
For frequently asked questions about the Rogers Reservation System, please click here Rogers Reservation FAQ
4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.
EDIT - As of tomorrow February 22nd the reservations system will open for us to reserve the device!. There is no time unfortunately.
Let's make this thread the only thread for the devices please and if you guys have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me and I'll gladly be able to help :).

I hope that they do have them in store for the reserved customers on the 11th, like I said, I waited almost two weeks for my GS6 edge+ to come in, (while they were in the stores for people to buy) I actually picked up a GS6 edge 128 GB a few days before I got a call saying my edge+ was in, which I then returned for the edge+
On another note, has anyone heard what the new upright wireless Qi charging pads, the S-View case, and the Gear 360 cameras are going to be selling for? I have the original Samsung Qi wireless puck, but the new upright charger looks more practical.

Hello @Scionergy
Yes i do remember that since I made the same thread for that device as well. It was due to the stores getting stock before hand and released it before. Also they had 3 Samsung S6 models so the S6 edge plus was the last one of them which took a while to get.
Again you will get it at launch. If not u can always call and get it at the store but suffer and not get the Gear VR.
Checking my invetory system and is shows the wireless upright Charging pads will be $79.99. The S-View case will be 59.99 - 69.99 depending on which location or where u find it.. I already got the LED flip case for my S7 Edge. I don't need the upright charging pad cradle. The pad will do fine.. The camera i haven't seen in the inventory system yet so I can't tell you what it will cost. Contact Samsung Canada for that...

@Meowmix thanks for the info! I just like the way the new wireless charging pad holds the phone more upright... and after all the issues with the clear view case scratching the glass on my GS6 edge+, I think I'll get the S-View case for the GS7 edge

What about the Gear 360 cameras? Any word on how much they will be offered for? Samsung Canada site does not offer any pricing information as of yet.
It's funny, they show it bundled with the Gear VR and the S7 S7 edge here: Samsung Canada Galaxy-S7 overview page - sure would be nice if it came with the Gear VR and the phone!

Sorry @Meowmix - didn't see the mention about the Gear 360 from the previous post... eyes are getting lazy already... but thanks just the same!

You hope?
LOL.
You do know that NOTHING about the 810's heat issues were released until the SOC came to market right?
No way am I touching Snapdragon SOC's for at least 2-3 more generations. 810 was and is an absolute joke of an SOC.

Hey Meowmix. Still on here as much as ever eh bro? Hehe.
I did press the reply button... guess I'm too used to other forums... thought I pressed "Quote".
Liquid cooling hmm? For a 14nm SOC?
Yeah I'd wait on that being confirmed before stating it as fact. 14nm SOC's do not need liquid cooling. That'd be a complete waste of materials. The only added benefit would be reduced heat and we all know where heat once was, energy was used. The only effect this would have would be allowing the SOC to stay at max clocks longer or indefinitely.
Thus draining the battery out.
I'm going to have to ask what your source is on this? Been watercooling and extreme cooling PC's for over 20 years... there is a reason we do this. Heat... obviously. Samsung's FinFET 14nm IMO does not need liquid cooling, as it's again 14nm. It's counterproductive to liquid cool somthing that will never need it.

Oh... apparently it's a heat pipe. Must be a vapor chamber.
That is NOT liquid cooling. Marketing only.
We're good now.
*edit*
It's just a heatpipe. No vapor chamber. No liquid whatsoever. Just looked at a teardown of the S7.
Same practice has been used on Laptops and GPU heatsinks for years. Should have done this years ago. Every phone should have this. Not really impressed with something that I've been saying should have been done years ago.
However.... the S7 Edge being longer.... should have a longer heatpipe.. the S7 Edge will be cooler. Guaranteed. Not by much... still.

Hello @nexxusty
Yup always on the forums providing help when needed!.
Indeed here are many links providing the source on where they show and say Samsung S7 has liquid cooling ( I'm never wrong on my sources ;)." If you Google search you will see it your self..

Nah you're reliable. I knew your info was at least what everyone else is saying.
It's just their info isin't reliable.
People can say it's "Liquid Cooling" as much as they want.... doesn't make it true. It's a heatpipe. Nothing else.
There is no tubing, no waterblock, no pump, no radiator. It's not liquid cooling. Period.
At best it *could* be a Vapor Exchanger (It's not). Which is what I thought it was.
Which again... is also NOT water cooling.... its closer to "Phase Change" cooling. The second you change the Phase of water to vapor its no longer watercooling. It's Phase Change cooling. Undoubetdly.
BTW, no ill will towards you man. None at all.
Just want to straighten things up, thats all. You seem like the type of person who would like to know correct information, rather than misinformation. Yes?
*edit*
LOL, apparently you already knew. Keepin your mouth shut... lol. Always a pleasure man. Always. 😉

hi
In a previous comment, you said the carriers would get in trouble if they released or shipped the S7 or Edge device early. What makes you say that, as i can see more carriers worldwide shipping early to customers.

getting into trouble for taking market share? I think samsung will actually love that....
In my theory Rogers do that (release right after on the 11th) so they can make few more dollar from ajusting billing cycle...
If you dont believe you can calculate it!
