I just switched from Bell to Rogers and was promised I could watch using the Ignite app on my many Fire TVs. This worked great with the Bell Fibe app for years. I see that it is available for Rogers Shaw customers but not regular Rogers customers. This is how I watch TV on 6 televisions in my house. Will there ever be an Ignite app on Fire TV? This is a major disappointment and I would not have switched if I had known. Bell has been doing this for years with their Fibe service. I dan't believe Roger is so far behind them. Please tell me this feature is coming soon!

That would be nice... but you won't get any confirmation that streaming apps are coming to (non-Shaw) Rogers customers until it actually appears in the app store for your device.
For the sake of my curiosity, who was it that promised you that an Ignite app is (or would be) available on the Fire TV platform?

The Rogers rep at the Canadian Tire store who sold me the package as well as the person who installed the system for me both told me that there was a fire TV app for Rogers Ignite

I really don't know what to say. If either of these reps received info about a Fire TV app as part of their training, its arrival could very well be imminent. However, if you showed them a web page indicating the app being available to (Shaw) customers, an untrained field tech won't argue with you and a sales rep will never disagree with you and talk you out of making a sale.

As a last resort if your Fire TV is an actual TV with Fire OS built-in that supports AirPlay you can cast Ignite from an iPhone or Mac if one is available. But if you're using a Fire TV device like the Fire Stick then there is no way to use Ignite on it. You would need to use a Chromecast, Roku or Apple TV box instead along with the Ignite app on your Android or iOS device, or the website on a computer.
I'm not sure why Rogers makes it so complex to use their service on a TV instead of simply making an app.

While installing an other application on my new Fire TV, I noticed that Ignite (Shaw) is now available for installation. When will Ignite for Rogers be available to Rogers customers? It is highly inconvenient to cast from anoher device. Please treat all your custoners equally!

as you are probably aware the app is now available on Fire TV

I have been looking for the Rogers IgniteTV app for the FireTV or FireStick.
In the past year I have had a number of Rogers Sales Reps either at my front door on on the phone trying to sell me Rogers Ignite Internet and TV packages..
They have all said that the Rogers Ignite TV app is available and will run on my FireTV and FireStick however it is not available in the app store and when I sideload the latest IgniteTV.APK it loads and opens but will not run the video streaming .. I get the message .. " We'er Sorry. This video stream is not playable under the current device condtions. Please disconect any external devices ( including HDMI, screen mirroring , or casting devices) and try again.
Am I doing something wrong?
Are the sales reps lying?
Does anyone know whats going on and if/when this app will be available for FireTV.
This is very disappointing..

Why would Rogers give us an app when they can rent you boxes for $17/box/month?

Yes i'm in the same senario as everyone. I saw Rogers recently took the name Xfinity vs ignite however it made no change when trying to access the Xfinity app from the firestick. Looking into switching back to Bell myself.

I have spent many hours yesteday to get Rogers xfinity working on a FireTV and a Fire Stick. The Rogers xfinity streaming app is in the Amazone Store but ONLY for Rogers SHAW customer. I tried it and it does not work because the authentication fais as it requires a Rogers Shaw account. I then tried to side load the Rogers xfinity streamin app from an Android tablet. Once installed, the application lauched correctly, then it lauched a browser to authenticatte with my Rogers account. I then entered my credentials but only got a blank sceen with a return arrow at the top left of the screen. I never got the application to work using he remote. I cleared the application cache and application data but I got the same blank screen. In conclusion Rogers has rebranded it products but Amazons devices are still NOT supported for non SHAW Regers customers!!! Even the Rogers US partner, Comcast, has a xfinity app for Amazon devices!!! Rogers doesn't seem to care as we are captive.

It is strange to say that Rogers doesn't care - it is an explicit Rogers policy to not allow you to use apps on a streaming device so that you have to rent boxes for $17/month/box. They care a lot about renting more boxes.
They could have made these apps available years ago. Or they could sell the boxes for a reasonable price.

I am a Rogers Shaw customer & after spending over an hour with a Rogers tech I was not able to activate a newly downloaded Rogers Xfinity app as the sign in page froze. After several attempts the tech told me that because Xfinity was still very new to Rogers it may not have been set up for Firestick yet (sceptical). And if it still didn't work I would have to contact Amazon's help desk.
