Light on or off tv box

antoniettemar
I plan to stick around

I recently got ignite TV, I have two boxes, the box in the living room has a indicator light that stays on. The box in my bedroom  has the light off, should both boxes have the light on? And if so, how do I, turn on the light. Thank you

The light on these boxes should normally go off after they go into standby, which is usually 5 hours. The light should come on when you turn on the box/TV.

However, there is a previous thread on this topic which indicates you should leave well enough alone if the boxes are functioning properly otherwise. See link below:

Yeah, one of my three boxes has no light. this just started today. it's got nothing to do with standby. My boxes always remain on. The one with no light still, so far, seems to work. I didn't adjust brightness levels.

Years ago, I reported a bug affecting the Xi6-T set-top boxes where, if you go into the setting to change the brightness level, and just cycle through the different brightness levels but do not change it, the status LED will turn off and stay off.  You cannot fix it by setting a new brightness level.

If I remember correctly, I think the LED also turns on very briefly when you power-cycle the set-top box, confirming that the indicator is not actually broken.
