I saw a few recent posts "hinting" at this, however, I received a text today confirming the following: I've therefore started this thread on the topic.
1. Rogers (and Fido) Prepaid services will no longer be available after December 16, 2024.
2. I can switch to Rogers (or Fido) (assume Post-paid service) and keep my number
3. I can switch to Chatr Prepaid and keep my number.
They provided a phone number 1-844-235-3766, or say to visit a Rogers retail location...
I just finished pre-paying until July 25, 2025 (so 9 months still to go, value approximately $75). I also have a balance on my grandfathered anytime plan of about $95.
I guess I'll need to do some research and decide what I'll do and also find out what Rogers will do regarding the $170 or so in "value" that I still have in my Prepaid account.

Not true ! I ported my number to freedom mobile and the move lost me me my pre-paid balance of $160.00
Rogers wanted me to move Chatr , I looked at their coverage and complaints and decided not to deal with them. I have Rogers TV, internet and home phone. I expected my %160.00 unused balance to be applied to my other rogers account. Hours on phone with service reps. and a letter to the president was no help. Happy ending to report though. I moved to Bell MTS , they matched my payment and threw in a pre-paid $250.00 visa card just for moving my account. I was a long time customer of Rogers, I tell all my friends how they screwed me over!
Sunday
We've been telling people for months that Rogers wouldn't apply the balances to home accounts.
I took the deal and plan to leave when I have to start paying for the service.
Sunday
They accepted my pre-payment for a service they were discontinuing. No I was not made aware I was throwing my money away. Rogers very easily could have keep me on as a long time customer. Instead Rogers kept my money!
I tell this story to my friends and they can't believe Rogers would do that either. What a ripoff!
Monday
My credit balance was transferred over.
My credit card company reimbursed me for the fraudulent sale for undelivered services.
It just took time and a bit of effort.

That's a BS story from you. Post the reply from your credit card company to prove it! I do not believe you.
yesterday
Awe, somebody is hurt because they left it to the last minute to deal with something.
I don't have to post anything on line. If you had read the thread and been following along since September when we started to deal with this.
I literally renewed my $100/year fees on the weekend and Rogers sent out the text saying service was ending Dec 16. Went on line and their chat person told me to file a fraudulent purchase complaint and to explain what I'd just asked about. Ten days later, my $100 was credited back to my card.
Many of us who went through all of the steps listed in early in this thread got our balance or a large portion transferred over.
It's called we dealt with asap when we were notified. We didn't wait almost six months to deal with it.

Hello Fiona,
If I was in your shoes and found out after I recently recharged my pay as you go account it was shutting down, then I WOULD DO THE EXACT SAME AS YOU, and file a dispute with the credit card company too just like you did!
Good for you for doing this. Rogers makes it difficult for customers to get their high balance recovered when shutting down, so this is quite possibly a good approach

The other day I went to my Rogers Store and switched from PayGo to Chatr. But I forgot to ask about possibly crediting my remaining $80 PayGo balance to my new account. So yesterday I contacted Rogers Share A Concern
Today I received a reply that the amount had been credited.
