Hi there,
Recently I travelled to a different country and had to switch to a different SIM card while I was in the country, I inserted Roger's SIM card into a different phone. Without me knowing, it turns out the phone had its roaming service on, and a month passed by without me not having any knowledge of the charges, now I owe Roger $CAD 300 and I asking if anyone knows how to get a refund since I never used any of its service. Thanks for your time

2...not having any knowledge of the charges,
1. As mentioned by @LordDrakkon above, as soon as the SIM connects to a foreign cell tower, you are charged for that day, and each day following when connected. Here's a summary of what you need to do to avoid roaming charges and why roaming is charged even when you don't think you "used" it.
As mentioned in my link above, your phone will get a text notice that you are roaming as soon as you are in a foreign country connected to a foreign tower and to check for charges.
