Steam Deck Remote Play Setup

Tonedef
I've been around

Hi. I have a unusual query. I have my recently adopted son living with me now and I recently purchased a PS5 and a Valve Steam Deck. He wants to be able to play the Steam Deck remotely connecting to the PS5 when we are in Montreal visiting family. I read online that this is possible but the instructions are a bit weird for me as I'm not sure how to do this via the Ignite Router Page.

Here are some of the instructions so you have an idea what I'm trying to do
• Step 3: We are going to assign a static Ip to your PS5 IPV4 address which will help with the port forwarding that needs to be
done.
◦ Please note: every router company has it's own designed web page. this makes it really hard to tell you exactly where you need to go to assign your PS5 MAC
address to a specific IP. Please do the own research for this on Google. Look in your router for something like DHCP binding.
Step 4: Time to port forward. Same rules apply as step 3, there will be a difference between your and mine router page. Please take a look at this site: https:/portforward
.com/router.htm if you cannot find the specific settings that I tellin this guide On my router it is in settings, Port Forwarding IPV4 (also note that in that same image you can turn off IPV6)◦ My router works with profiles, rather than port forwarding on IP bases please
use the specific ports seen in the image below on your own router settings.
So I'm basically trying to set up my router with a static Ip and have some ports forwarded. Issue is I can't find where to do it. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated of possible. Thanks.

Hello, @Tonedef.

Thank you for choosing to post your unusual query in our Community, and we welcome you here! 😃

Based on the instructions, you have two tasks to accomplish for the Steam Deck to work as you intend. The best way to assign the static IP to your PS5 is to follow the instructions listed in the solution post of this thread.

And to add port forwarding, you need to use the Ignite HomeConnect app:

  1. Open the Ignite HomeConnect app and sign in using your MyRogers username and password.
  2. At the bottom, select Overview and tap on View network details at the top.
  3. Select Advanced Settings and then Port Forwarding from the list.
  4. Select Add Port Forward. Choose PS5 from the device list and complete the port forwarding.

All the best!

Cheers,

RogersMoin
