Looks like the Rogers Ignite brand is history. Say hello to Rogers Xfinity. (That feels REALLY weird to type!)
https://www.rogers.com/support/tv-streaming/what-you-need-to-know-about-rogers-xfinity
My Ignite TV and HomeConnect iOS apps updated to ones with the new branding. I was really hoping to see the new Rogers Xfinity Stream (TV app) on Apple TV (and other streaming platforms) but, sadly, that was not the case.

Or is Xfinity the brand that they are using for the next generation?
And is this just for TV or for Internet as well?

See my post here: https://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/Internet/Rogers-Xfinity/td-p/536176
It looks like Rogers renamed all of the Ignite-branded services to Rogers Xfinity:
Rogers Xfinity Internet
Rogers Ignite TV now seems to be Rogers Xfinity Stream
The Rogers Ignite HomeConnect app got renamed to Rogers Xfinity
I do not see any updates to the Rogers Ignite Streaming service naming.
Presumably, this rebrand is a prelude to new Rogers Xfinity-branded Connected Home products coming our way.

They have it on their website but they don't seem to have done a press release on this yet - there is nothing when you do a news search.

Still no tvOS app and it’s almost 2025. Comcast had it since 2022.
That $8/mth STB fee must be sooo important for the revenue.
#greed
Consider yourself lucky. In Ontario, STB rentals are now $17/month!

Well, they have not launched any new products yet, and it is going to take some time to replace the Ignite branding on all web pages.
I am, however, baffled as to why they chose to unveil the Xfinity brand today. Why not do it in conjunction with the rumoured new set-top box launch or some other new product or service with the Xfinity branding, or some other really big newsworthy thing?

So I got an email from Rogers to advise that this was something *new* and that I had been *upgraded* to Xfinity, but as far as I can tell (at the moment at least) it is all smoke and mirrors and just a name/brand change?
The website says "this changes everything". Marketing hype 101 - I don't see that it changed *anything*. What am I missing?

Cox launched the Xumo Stream set-top box a few weeks ago. I didn't think much about it at the time but then saw a new voice remote in the press release, with channel buttons. There is a clear picture of it (and the STB, which just looks like the XiOne) here: https://www.cox.com/residential/tv/streaming-devices.html
(Yes, that box runs Entertainment OS, and that's all that we also know so far about the rumoured new Rogers STB.)
Cox customers can BUY this box for US$60, which makes the Rogers $17/month rental charge all the more insane and infuriating.
Edit: I posted this this as a standalone topic (titled, "Will this be the new Rogers Xfinity/Ignite TV set-top box?") but the Mods merged it into this thread. Confirmation that we will see this very soon?

I got the same email at 11:25 this morning saying, "Your equipment has been automatically updated to the Rogers Xfinity experience—you're all set."
My set-top boxes and modem/gateway are still running the same software. A "System Refresh" did not trigger any updates either. The only updates that I have seen, so far, are new mobile apps with the Xfinity branding.

With the conversion to Xfinity(?) and the increase in my equipment rental, does that mean I can expect an upgrade to my existing equipment?

If the Xfinity does not work on devices like the firestick, then it is just a waste of resources and rebranding. Why do Shaw Customers have the ability to do so and Rogers Customers cannot. It is now one company.

this is exactly what i was wondering

As soon as rogers said upgrade my apps on my mobile phone don't work. Anyone have this issue?

So Rogers changed Ignite to a new service and that new service doesn't work. Great work Rogers. Just told by support that both (old and new) streaming services are down. Amazing Rogers...

@pcowan : I just checked and I was able to watch live or recorded programming using the Rogers Xfinity Stream app, as well as the https://ignitetv.rogers.com/ website, as well as on my TV.

So when i try to go to ignitetv.rogers.com and tries to redirect to the new xfinity streaming site i assume, but I keep getting a 'this site can't be reached' page. Whats the deal? is it not working yet?

Here in Ottawa, TV works but https://ignitetv.rogers.com/ does not.
Ben getting this message:
An error occurred during a connection to esfapi.rogers.com. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR
Error code: PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR
Will give it more time. Worked this morning.

Just deleted all my Rogers' cookies and tried again. https://ignitetv.rogers.com/ now works!

Not sure if you were being sarcastic or not but I doubt this changes anything functionally. Xfinity was the name of Comcast's service and Rogers has just licensed this from Comcast. So now they are using Comcast's name as well.
