Manage your Home Phone voicemail notifications and messages

Never miss an important Home Phone voicemail message again. Learn how to manage notifications, forward your messages as emails or as MMS messages to your wireless number.

How to turn voicemail notifications on or off:

Voicemail notifications are turned on by default.

To turn the Message Waiting indicator (i.e. the light that flashes or screen notification) on or off:

  1. Dial *98 from your home phone.
  2. Enter your voicemail password.
If you’ve forgotten it, you can contact us to recover your password.
  3. Press 4 for Personal Options.
  4. Press 1 for Outcall Notification.
  5. Listen carefully to the third and fourth menu options here. The message will be different based on the current state of the Message Waiting Indicator When the indicator is:
    1. Already ON: pressing 3 turns it off.
    2. Already OFF: pressing 3 to turns it on.
    3. Pressing 4 will always keep the current setting.

To make other changes, press * to return to the previous menu. If you’re done with your changes you can hang up.

Keep in mind…

  • When this feature is turned off you’ll also no longer be notified by a “stuttering” dial tone when there are new voicemail messages.

If the Message Waiting Indicator on your phone set won’t turn off, we have steps to help you fix this.

Send new voicemail messages to your email as an audio file:

  • Log into Online-Voicemail with your Home Phone number and voicemail password.
  • Select the Voicemail Settings tab.
  • Choose Email Address from the left menu.
  • Select Add and enter your email address. You can add up to two email addresses.
If you’d like to change a current email address, select Edit
  • Make sure to check the Automatically forward my voicemail messages to the email address(es) checkbox
  • Select Submit to save.

To turn this feature off, simply uncheck Automatically forward my voicemail messages to the email address(es) and select Submit to save.

Keep in mind - All forwarded voicemail messages will be marked as saved when checking by phone or as read when you log into Online-Voicemail.

Send new voicemail messages to your wireless number as an MMS (audio) message

  • Log into Online-Voicemail with your Home Phone number and voicemail password.
  • Select the Voicemail Settings tab.
  • Choose Voicemail to MMS on the left menu.
  • Select the Automatically forward my new Home Phone voicemail messages to the wireless number checkbox and enter your 10-digit wireless number (no dashes).
  • Select Submit to save.

Keep in mind…

  • All forwarded voicemail messages will be marked as saved when checking by phone or as read when you log into Online-Voicemail.
  • If the Voicemail to MMS feature is set to forward the message to a non-Rogers number, you will only receive messages for voicemails that have been left by Rogers, Fido, or Chatr users.
