Hey guys!

Google just announced the Google Pixel and Pixel XL! Great phones with great features! Let's discuss more here!

1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Google Pixel and Pixel XL to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; Google Pixel and Pixel XL Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

And I'm pretty sure they must have known much earlier if there was going to be a delay, so, inform your customers.

This is a classic case of overpromising and under-delivering.

I think my account is flagged cause of multiple calls to Rogers. Whenever I call into Relations, it sends me to Management office LoL.

Its true but look over St my other Thread with the iPhone 7. No carrier got the JB iPhone Plus model at launched and got th email weeks later meanwhile Apple was selling them for weeks and even at launch.

Sounds like internationally almost everyone didn't get xl devices or the 128GB ones. Rogers is just the retailer. They're at the whim of their supplier, Google. It's easy to blame Rogers, as they're the ones we have our phones with, but it's obvious that it's an issue everywhere. In the big scheme of things Canada is a super small market economically, and rogers is a super small company when it comes to scale. If they had to choose between sending 200 devices to Canada and giving 200 more devices to Verizon, who is 10x larger than Rogers and local, they'd simply distribute the stock to local markets first.

Exactly. Look at Canada with the Note 7. We only got 22,000 of them yet in the states over a million got devices. Samsung picked to ship more blue ones to them and also composition to them then us. Then the recall happens. Same as with the iPhone. Some in the states got the Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus but here in Canada we barely got any.

I'm done with Rogers thats for sure.

Anyone know if I payout my device blance & run the OEM unlock on the pixel from the devloper options will I be able to use this phone on other networks... Or does the Rogers 90 day thing apply and lock the phone?

According to what I was reading, the Pixel is not locked to any specific carrier due to it being a Pixel/Nexus type device.

I haven't got the text about a delay yet, so hopefully they ship my device sometime soon.

And it may not be Roger's fault, but it doesn't matter if you don't communicate to your customer. They knew how many devices they were getting weeks and weeks ago, yet they decided not to communicate. I work for a retailer, and if we have supply issues we would tell our customers asap. A message 4 or 5 days before launch of this device saying "Due to manufacturing issues, we will be recieving a much smaller shipment than first expected. Our estimated new ship date is X, however we will keep you informed of any changes to that date" would have gone a looooong way to keeping this at bay.

If you cancel your account and buy out the device full price then u can pay the $50 and have them unlock it for u. If you upgrade on the account then u just wait the 90 days to have Rogers unlock it for u.


From what i heard the Pixel is unlocked.

I've been here awhile

I currently do not use the number that i requested the HUP on for my Pixel XL 128 but i received an email from Rogers. Not sure if it is a generic email but it said that this is a confirmation of the shipping address and the device is being shipped to XYZ store. It also mentioned my reservation number and said that UPS info will be sent out once it is available.

 

Should i get excited ? lol

Normally they send those out to remind u which store it's going too and all. U should get a email with the tracking number once it's available and shipped out.

I got an email too but I was at work and opened it on my phone. I quickly had to shove my phone in my pocket because my boss walked by and when I went to look at it after the email dissapeared!!! Smiley Mad GRR

 

The email title was something like Regarding you phone reservation. Was yours like that?

I found the email, somehow it ended up in a trash and spam mixed folder that I didn't even know I had.

Yeah, seems odd. I got the same exact email. I hope this means more news is coming soon. Or it could mean that that phone has an "internal" release date and that they send that email out a few days before the release day to people who reserved one. Could very well mean they could ship in the next few days.

Everyone that reserved the Pixel XL and Pixel got that email today as well.. They send out regular emails like that. So are last they they giving some information everyone has been asking for.

Also the didn't send out that email could be for various reasons that can not be published in the public. Aka could be Google not letting them too as no other carriers including Best Buy posted anything until late last night and this morning like Rogers did.

I have yet to receive any communication beyond my orriginal reservation e-mail, except the text message that was mentioned earlier.  No e-mail confirming details etc. but I have moved down to position 115 in the queue for my Pixel XL 128MB Quite Black...

What I'm wondering, is how the reservation system works. Does it show our position for Canada? Ontario? Our city? Our Store??
