Hey guys!
Once again its the time of the year that Google announced their Pixel line up!!
1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - My Device - Device Reservation. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want aka Pixel 2 Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .
- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.
2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.
3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.
For frequently asked questions about the Rogers Reservation System, please click here Rogers Reservation FAQ
4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confuses about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.
5). They also started last year a pre ordering system done online being charged on your CC ( Credit card) imminently and having the device shipped to your home instead. Last year with the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus the ones that picked this way got it the day of launch or day after launch but only a few did. Not everyone. This way is a good way but sadly u do not see any status updates like u do with the reservation system and only get a confirmation email and a shipment email. ( some did not get any email until the unit got shipped with QMS or UPS)
Let's make this thread the only thread for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL please and if you guys have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me and I'll gladly be able to help!Smiley Happy

@Hightower1291 I pre-order on day one, no updates for me either.

I preordered on the launch day as soon as it became available. I should technically be one of the first to hear about shipping but nothing yet. I will keep this post updated as to when I hear or if I just decide to get it in store.

@Hightower1291
If memory serves me correctly, Rogers started taking pre-orders on Oct 4. I was trying that day to pre-order online, but the web site kept crashing on me. I was only able to get the order in the next day. Would have been the morning of Oct 5th, assuming the Oct 4 date was indeed the day of pre-order.

I am another ship-to-home ordered on the day of launch. I have not been impressed with the whole process. The way I cannot see the status of my order online throughout has not filled me with confidence, and finding out now that the ship-to-store is the quicker option is disappointing. I understand from this forum that it has always been this way so I guess I should have done my homework before ordering.

It's unfortunate that they seem to be prioritizing stores vs ship to home pre-orders.
In any case, I'm sure we'll all see our new devices in the next few days. I'm in no great rush, but as I said in my earlier post, I'll be glad to have a battery that lasts more than a few hours without requiring a charge. My current phone isn't doing so well for battery longevity.

For sure, a few days delay is not a major issue in the grand scheme of things. However I am generally impressed with Rogers' customer service, their website, their app, but this pre-order process seems a bit amateur.

@scdoyle I couldn't agree more. One of the main reason I am still with rogers is their Customer Service. Their MyRogers app/website are both top of the field from what I can see. And the fact their data tracking is "real-time" and their offers like Rogers GameCentre Live and free Spotify accounts is awesome. Also Rogers "Roam Like Home" is super handy as well. They also have a pretty awesome online chat customer service.
But everything to do with this pre-order seems WAY underdeveloped and in no way professional. We are ordering devices $1000+, and other than a plain text email saying the order was received, we know absolutely nothing about the status of our order, it doesn't even show on the account. This is the only time I have ever made a purchase (let alone a pre-order) and not had ANY sort of transparency or information on my order.
Sad that things need to be this way, but based on what @Meowmix has said, this isn't going to change.... 😞

Agreed. This order process is rather vague and lacks any type of transparency. Nowhere else do you order something online and have absolutely no record of your transaction available, pre-order or not.

@Crunchmeister worst part is their customer also don't have any idea. they can only see as much as we can.

I actually specifically ordered through Corporate (RogersDirect.ca) just so I can look up the order and see the status. The problem is it still says "pre-fulfillment" so now I realize I'd rather have 0 transparency and actually get the phone earlier than wait an extra week or two which apparently Rogers Business customers have had to do in the past..

@Crunchmeister if you don't mind me asking, did you pre-order the All Black, or the White/Black Pixel 2 XL. I feel like the colour is going to make a difference in the pre-order shipment. I feel us who ordered the Black/White one will have to wait a little longer due to the demand of that colour.

Hi folks,
I'm in the same "ship to home" boat as many here and yes it's been a poor experience. However I just noticed that in the past few hours my MyRogers profile has been updated. Instead of showing my current iPhone 6 as my current device, it shows the Pixel 2 XL! I can even see the IMEI number.
It's not much, but it's a great sign. 🙂

@rere4gege i guess I have to keep reloading "MyRogers profile" page !! lol
11-14-2017 02:37 PM
@rere4gege What was the date/time of your pre-order? and what exact phone did you order? (size/colour)
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a feel for what devices r being switched out on the MyRogers pages. You are the second person saying they see the updated device/IMEI.
I pre-ordered Pixel 2 XL 64GB in Black/White on Oct 6th. Nothing updated in my account yet, but nice to know its starting to happen for people! Hopefully mine comes soon! My Note 2 running CyanogenMod just isn't cutting it anymore... ahahaha... Why did I have to break my Nexus 6P a month ago :'(

I ordered the Panda Pixel 2 XL on Oct 19th via Rogers.com. Got that vague text from Rogers on Oct 25th.

I ordered a 128GB Panda XL in the afternoon of Oct 4 for home delivery, pretty much asap once the site was live. Mine remains unchanged. Will edit this when/if it does.

@rere4gege I pre-ordered the Panda Pixel 2 XL 3 days before you did and nothing has been updated on my account... This pre-order system is starting to make less and less sense the more I learn.....
11-14-2017 02:44 PM
I agree that it doesn't make sense.
Some possible differences that I forgot to mention: My account is not consumer but a business/corporate account. I also ordered the 64 GB model.
For all we know, all ship to home orders were just tossed into a big file and they're just sending them out through alphabetical order.

I ordered on 4th Oct 2017, pixel 2 XL 64GB black, still no updates !! that's all over the place.
