Shaw mobile allowed a max of 30 sec of ringing (but mid 2023, they are merged into Rogers, so its gone I guess)

So the sad truth is, it can not be done, it is hard coded to 20 seconds at the network switch level. The commands in the back end and the back end engineers and technicians do not have authority nor access to make changes to live customer accounts to extend the rings to 30, sorry but that hurts to hear this but it will be stuck at 20 seconds which is about 4 rings.
thanks,

I came to the same conclusion, just spend half my morning trying to extend the amount of rings before going to voicemail. most cell phones appear to have feature allowing the user to change the amount of seconds.to allow more rings on my phone (at least 5 or 6). It is most frustrating that I am expecting important medical calls, and can't get to my phone on time because I may be washing my hands or may be in the next room. This happens on 50 % of my calls. Medical specialists are hard to reach even after they leave a message. So, I'd rather catch my call right away instead of relying on voicemail. The 20 seconds are impractical. I should be allowed to set my own number of rings.

Good balance? Maybe for you or other geeks that rarely use the phone part of cell phone. I need a PHONE and for me and for many other users "20s compromise sucks!!!

It may be a good balance in your view "Rogers Corey", but as is clear from most of the other posts, 20 seconds is not long enough for many of us. We the customers should have the choice of how many rings before going to voicemail. On our 20 year-old physical answering machine, I can set the number of rings for whatever number I like, and, it seems Rogers allows you to change the number of rings on your Rogers home phone so why not on our cell phones? I too have missed important calls because my phone was in the other room. And even if I have my phone in my pocket, sometimes I miss a call. I have repeatedly asked Rogers technicians and one told me that yes I could change the number of rings, then when the tech tried on their own phone, they apologized to me that no you actually cannot change the number of rings. It is 2023, surely this technology can be changed! Thanks.

Hey Rogers, it is the year 2024. Please allow us to adjust the amount of rings for mobility (iPhone & Android) before it goes into voicemail. Give us options. This can be changed with other providers, so why not you?

Why doesn't Rogers answer, or don't they read their customer comments?

@Betted : Rogers have replied several times in this (and other) threads - the last time just over a year ago - link below.
I suspect nothing has changed since then and it it still hard coded in their network. Other providers may have different setups.

I'm slow, and can't get to the phone before it goes to VM. I didn't seem to have this problem with Shaw, and I don't have this problem with TelCel when I'm in Mexico. You need to fix this.

Here's a thought. What about addressing the Accessibility Community? This limitation is UNACCEPTIBLE!
Just a word of warning --- the Accessible Canada Act was passed 2 years ago. When the accessible standards are put into play, I will be looking to file a accessibility complaint for failure to comply under communication standards.

Hello, @asfre & @A11ySteven.
We appreciate the feedback you’ve shared on this topic and have shared your concerns internally for review. For future reference, Rogers has created an accessibility feedback process where you can share your feedback about accessibility. You can find that and our multi-year accessibility plan at this link: Rogers accessibility.

You guys really don't understand that services calling you back are extremely difficult to get a hold of once you miss the call after 4 rings. Insurance, doctors, specialists, etc. This needs to be customizable to the user. 4 rings or 20 seconds is not nearly good enough. This needs to change.

Certainly not solved. It would be better to take this (extending the time to voice mail) as a request for a change to improve customer service, but no Rogers doesn't think that way.
