going to US

I've been around

Going to US for a week. My Canada Rogers plan states :

  • Unlimited Canada+US Calling (to/from)
  • Unlimited International Text, Picture and Video Messages
  • Monthly data at speeds up to 150Mbps
  • Access your data from Canada+US

My Question is : does it mean i can call/txt/msg US AND/OR Canada while in the US? Also does it mean i can message, browse and watch videos(example Youtube) using my available data ? tia

Hi @rtan1,

Welcome to the Community!

The Canada+US Rogers Infinite plan lets you use your plan’s talk, text and data in the US, just like you do at home, without any roaming fees. Now you can stay connected, worry-free, across both Canada and the US with a single plan.

This plans include unlimited calling, text, picture and video messaging to and from phone numbers in Canada and the US whether you are in either country. In addition, you will also be able to use your plan’s data just as you do at home whenever you are in the US without paying any roaming fees.

Calls and texts to international phone numbers outside of Canada and the US will be subject to standard long distance rates.

I hope this helps. For more information please check out this page.

If you also have a smart watch plan, does this also apply, as it shares the data from your main cell phone plan?

Re: going to US

Good day @CFSI,

Welcome to the Rogers Community and thank you for your post!

If your smartwatch is WiFi only, there won't be additional charges.

However, every device that has its own SiM card and phone number, will be billed for the Roam Like Home daily fee if they don't have a price plan that includes roaming.

Hope this helps!

Do I have to turn on roaming on my iPhone while I’m in US for this to work?

@WCyvr That would depend on your plan.

1. Do you have the Canada/US plan discussed earlier in this thread?

2. If not, unless you asked Rogers to turn off "Roam Like Home", you will probably be charged the $12/day to roam in the US.

3. If you don't want to be charged for roaming, there are alternatives - see the following post, such as pay-per use... (with Roam Like Home turned off):

https://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/Account-Support/Roaming-like-home/m-p/518044/highlight/true#M3...

4. You will likely get a text from Rogers stating that you are roaming as soon as your phone connects to a US cell tower.
