Unable to Benefit From Connected for Success Due to Having Device Financed

BC32
I've been around

I am experiencing a similar situation with Rogers refusing to help me find a solution to a problem with being eligible for a lower cost plan. In my case it's the Connected for Success program, which I qualify for because I am on disability due to having Multiple Sclerosis, but they won't allow me to sign up for because I am already in a contract. I have offered to return my phone, which I have only had for six months, or continue to finance it, but they won't allow this. Their other option is that I would have to pay the entire balance on the phone I currently have, which would be close to $900, which I cannot do. It really is a disgrace, especially considering that their service is very unreliable, with constant outages. I would like to cancel my contract and leave Rogers altogether, but they would still charge me the amount remaining on my financing plan, even if I return the phone. They are a greedy corporation falsely representing themselves as being helpful to those in need. I have been a Rogers customer for more than 12 years and this is the treatment I am receiving in return for my loyalty to the company.

Good afternoon @BC32,

I appreciate you took the time to share the details of your situation with the Rogers Community. I understand you are less than pleased with the eligibility criteria for the Connected for Success program.

Firstly, I want to acknowledge that you brought up your MS diagnosis. What you just shared was so heartfelt and I am sincerely sorry you're going through this.

While we may not have the ability to take your phone back, since you are past the buyers remorse period, you may sell your device in order to offset the remaining balance.  That way you would have the ability to pay off the subsidy left and benefit from the Connected for Success program. It's not an option we offer but it's one that is available to you!

I sincerely apologize you think poorly of Rogers based on the situation at hand. However, don't hesitate to let us know if you wand our help in seeing if you current pricing could be lowered. We would be happy to take a deeper look into this.

For any other questions, please reach out to CFSapplication@rci.rogers.com for assistance!
