Does anyone know if it is possible to switch to the seniors plan for an existing customer. I have been a customer for about 25 years, and it seems wierd that the discount is for new activations only.

I believe this is just for internet and TV. I am talking specifically about the offer Rogers has for seniors 55 and over. They offer 50Gig/month for cellphone plans on new activations. I have been with Rogers for over 25 years, I never understood why new customers get a better deal than loyal long term customers.

It's because the "promotions" offered to new customers are limited time offers to get people to subscribe. These don't provide as much profit. Same holds true for loss-leaders or other sale items at a grocery store for example. A company doesn't make enough profit on such offers, therefore regular pricing takes over at the end of the promotion.

That would make sense if it was something one free month, or a discount on a new phone. The seniors plan is for 2 years. So someone who just joined rogers gets the same plan as I do for $25 less a month, when I have been a loyal customer for 25 years.

It's the way of the corporation and the world. Loyalty means very little to companies. Watch the documentaries "The Corporation" and "The New Corporation" to see how corporations are run and act like psychopaths. It doesn't have to make sense, just profit.

If you think $25/month is a lot, many new clients get/got significantly more than that with IgniteTV/Internet when signing up. It's similar at Bell, so if you're after the best deal, switch companies every couple of years when the promotion ends and become a new customer each time. It's a pain, but may be worth it to you. You'll have to decide.
It's also possible to contact Rogers and see what they'll do for you to stay with them. Do your research on what's available elsewhere (not at Rogers) and use that as a lever to negotiate a better price while threatening, or being willing to, leave.

That’s an outright lie, you don’t appreciate your long time customers because if you did you would offer these deals to us as well. I have talked to your supposed customer service agent and they had nothing to offer. I was promised that better deals would be offered monthly on my account and so far all you offer is more data at even higher rates than I pay now. Ridiculous non customer service or loyalty!
