Adding payee on online banking

Fmguycan
I've been around

I had an issue initially adding my 9 digit account # to my online banking. I was told to go my bank for them to add it manually for me but I decided to explore further. I open the PDF of online bill and found a 11 digits account # which is to be used for online/telephone banking. If any new customers encounter this problem just what I stated.

Hey @Fmguycan !

A very warm welcome to our community! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this helpful payment info to our forums. I'll bet it will help others who are also trying to set-up their payments for the first time. 🙂

Just to add, you'll find this 11-digit Bank Payment ID (for telephone/internet banking) at the very top of page 1 on your monthly bill.

Cheers!

Hello - I tried 12 digit number but it wasn’t accepted. Did you add a lead-in zero to make a 12 digit number?

Re: Adding payee on online banking

This 11-digit Bank Payment ID does NOT appear anywhere on your Rogers online bill. So if a customer doesn't download the bill as a PDF, they will NEVER see it. The Rogers technical support person did NOT know that the 9-digit account number on the online bill was not the number that would be used for online banking. She unlinked and relinked my profile to the 9-digit account number, hoping it would fix the problem. She was completely unaware that there was a 11-digit Bank Payment ID (same as account but with 2 additional numbers) that should be used for online banking payments.

Also, the Bank of Montreal technical representative didn't know why he couldn't add the 9-digit Rogers account number either so this information has not be communicated to the banks.

Do better Rogers.
