AMC Gone Missing

Last night there was no signal on AMC and I couldn't watch The Walking Dead.Today again there is no signal only a black screen.What happened to AMC?

I still have a black screen on the AMC channel,but,tonight,I was able to watch the missing Walking Dead episode on Rogers On Demand which may suggest a local problem in Whitby/Oshawa.

AMC is fine on Ignite. It's possible there is a signal issue at your home or in your neighbourhood.  I'm assuming you're still on legacy digital cable. You can check the signal yourself or contact Rogers and have them check it. See the following post on the topic:

Signal strength can vary by channel, so one/some channel(s) can be affected while others are fine.  Have you surfed around and found any other channels that are black screen?

I still have two 8300HD pvrs.My cable is split to the 2 boxes(#1 & #2).I have had no problem with AMC,at least up to Sunday April 3rd.I use a split HDMI output from box #1 to a 55"Sony and 32" Sharp. and a component output to my 55" Sony only.In general,the signal strength in Box#1 is lower than the one from Box #2. Looking at the diagnostics,it appears that both boxes had rebooted at 6 am this morning,but the AMC channel is still black on both boxes.Looking at sample Current QAM numbers(shown as Freq MHz/Level dBmV /S/N)

I do not see anything which indicates a signal problem when AMC is the only black screen.I have not yet done extensive scrolling to see if anything else is gone.

Try removing the upstream splitter and replace it with a barrel connector, or connect the line directly to one 8300HD temporarily as a test?

If that doesn't work, you may need to contact Rogers.

I had done a lot of fooling around.Yesterday,I hooked up each box separately directly,but AMC was still blacked out.I couldn't figure out how the channel was blacked out when the signal diagnostics were fine.The frequency on both boxes was 561 MHz.I had gotten in the habit of checking for the channel first thing every morning.This morning the channel was still blacked out,but late this afternoon,I checked again and AMC was back.I went into the diagnostics and the frequency is now reading 789 MHz.This is just another reason why I hate Rogers.
