new Popular Ignite TV package excludes Sportsnet Ontario?

Just found out that Rogers is bringing back the Popular Ignite TV package but it excludes Sportsnet Ontario....yet it includes the Rogers Super Sports pack.  I would get all other sports channels but the one for the province I live in? How is this possible?

These Ignite TV packages are still new and I am sure that this is just an error in the published channel guides.  SportsNet is also owned by Rogers.  There is no way that they would have nothing on Channel 32, offer "SportsNet Pacific" in a package for Ontario customers, and not offer "SportsNet Ontario".

Currently looking at renewing our subscription with Rogers. We currently have the Ignite TV Flex 20 + Sports channels and it sounds like we have to go to the new Ignite Popular TV package which supposedly according to the Rogers rep has all the same channels. I haven’t signed up yet as our chat got interrupted / closed. Now that I read that SportsNet Ontario might be missing, has anyone else noticed any other channels missing? I can’t find the list of channels in the package. If someone has the link to the old and new pkg, can you please send it?

Why make it so difficult to find the list of the different package on the website? A lot of people asked for them. This information should be available online and easy to find!

I don't know why it's so hard for Rogers to provide correct channel listings.  The ones I get almost always have an error or two, including Sportsnet Ontario -- but it should be included.

I just came back to Rogers and will be getting the Popular option. On the Rogers website it shows Sportsnet Ontario but on the guide I received it is not.

I called Rogers and was told that SN Ontario is definitely included.

The rep I first talked to when I ordered also told me TSN 5 was included. However I now find out it is not.

I got a fair deal but have reservations.

The only reason I will be leaving Bell is the cost of a home phone is ridiculous.  I was not unhappy with Bell at all.

In fact, had I been able to get the home phone and eliminate the cell for the same price I would have not left Bell.

I'm an older person and I don't need a cell and I actually feel uncomfortable when it comes to calling 911 if necessary as it is so much quicker to call using an old fashioned phone.

I mean come on, it's not the old copper, always reliable phone system, why gouge the public with high VOIP prices.

PS: I was also told I'd have flex channels. Apparently that's no longer available. lol and 😞

@gary1953 if you had ported out your home number to a VOIP provider, you would end up paying somewhere around $3.00 a month, possibly a little more for a  VOIP "landline".  That's a combination of line cost and the mandatory E911 service fee.  You would need to buy an Analogue Telephone Adapter, something like the Grandstream 801 or 802 ATA shown here,

and set up a VOIP account as well as the ATA.  Once that is done, its pretty simple, internet service is up, or down, one of the two, and the phone follows whatever the internet service is doing.  

When the ATA hits the payback date, you start saving money.  

So, you can run a home phone these days at a much cheaper rate, and end up with more services from the VOIP provider compared to any ISP that offers home phone service these days.

The  one caveat here is that you need internet service, so, if it fails, so does the home phone running thru a VOIP ATA.  That's probably not going to happen with a cell phone, so, the tradeoff, potentially, is reliability versus cost.
