Hulu coming to Rogers Ignite STB?

Just noticed a new section called Video added this morning with a X1 app described as Hulu- Prod WIP. When opened it gives message "Not Availaible in your country". Anybody else notice this.

This may be a side product of the development of the product at comcast.
As they are the main ones who created and do the development for the product.

As HULU is not available in Canada at all.  US only service as far as I am aware.

There have been some rumours circulating that a Hulu app for X1 will be coming to Xfinity in 2020.  Nothing has been officially announced yet but based on what you are seeing, it could be a sign that a Hulu app is coming soon.  That said, Hulu is not available in Canada so even if the app did get released on the X1 platform, it would be a US-only offering.

FYI: One way to check if an app might be coming soon to Ignite TV is through Voice Commands.  A few months before its release, the "Amazon Prime" and "Prime Video" commands were recognized but produced an APPS-04154 error saying that the app could not be loaded.

DAZN hasn't really disappeared because it never "appeared" to begin with.  😀  The "da zone" voice command is still recognized (and fails with an APPS-04154 error) so that suggests that the DAZN app will still be coming to Ignite TV sooner or later.

The Hulu news doesn't impact us much just yet... but it is exciting that the right people are working together and that a Disney+ app could be in the works for the X1 platform.
