Adding Apps on Ignite TV?

is it possible to add apps on the new ignite TV interface?
For instance, I like to stream from TV station web platform: can I download these anywhere, as opposed to having to go through the ridiculously primitive letter by letter search on YouTube? While YouTube only have very few shows that need to be accessed directly from a TV station platform.

Would be nice but no you can not add apps to the ignite TV box. Only rogers can.

Thank you for prompt reply. Sorry to be blunt but this is pathetic... No customization of additional apps...

This means I have to get my own box (chromecast, roku, apple TV) which is yet another step towards cutting cable... and just go with internet.

Rogers is shooting itself in the foot - pushing ppl to Ignite TV which provides a very narrow window into Internet streamings. Please pass on this comment upstream...

Because it is their box and they support it. Allowing users to put any apps on it they wish would compromise the integrity of the box. People would call for support saying my "Nude On The Beach" streaming app is not working, how come?

Totally - a very closed ecosystem... unacceptable... meaning buying an additional box and thus encouraging folks to leave digital cable.... This is what I will end up doing...

bla-bla-bla.... they don't need to support third party apps not approved yet could allow installs. Simple.

They "could" allow simple installs, but then they would need to provide "Extra" technical support they are normally not trained on when simple installs will cause an Ignite set top box to fail to operate or boot correctly, basically any time you allow any "apps" on a device, you have to provide "support"  and make sure the device is compatible with those apps, and do a lot of testing before hand, if you got your wish and wanted apps without rogers ignite team to test it fully, you open a big can of worms and liability,   Be careful what you wish for, there is always an explanation of why things are the way they are. Rogers ignite is NOT an open source system, its a Closed Source system,

Pauly - please stop posting on my threads - you are rude, derogatory and clearly not helping. You keep saying: current tech is perfect and the user is in imperfect. Please: go away and stop posting on my question threads.
