Ignite TV app - Screen cast option not showing

I've been here awhile

The screen cast option(normally an icon in top right corner) is not showing.

It shows sometimes then next day not there then it appears again without doing anything... My other apps show the option to cast the only 1 that has issues is ignite TV

Have you tried clearing Ignite TV app's cache and data? Are you on the most updated version of the app? Have you attempted yet to uninstall and reinstall the app?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, still no cast icon .
I have 2 cell phones , 1 has the icon the other doesn't

May I know which device are you missing the cast icon on? I was not able to replicate the issue on an iPhone 12. Is this for your Samsung device? Have you tried to clear the app cache? What version of the app are you currently on?

Hi ,
I'm using a Samsung s22 , app version
6.19.2.001 . I have cleared cache . I've done everything but still no icon .
A family member has the same phone , there app has the icon .
Is there a setting on the phone that needs to be on or off ?

Hello, @Joe196969.

 

I appreciate the app version and clearing the cache; missing the Cast icon on one device is a mystery. 

 

Let's see if we can solve it:

  • Is your S22 connected to the same WiFi network as the Chromecast?
  • Do you have a VPN service running on the S22?
  • Have you disabled any required app permissions? The app needs Files and media, and Location permission.

Hi , I am not using a chrome cast.
Just straight to smart tv . They are on the same wifi . All permissions are allowed .
My netflix app has the cast icon , so I think the phone is set up right .

Your phone and smart tv are not compatible together...

I had the same issue with my Google pixel and had to purchase a Chromecast for my brand new 1600$ smartTv

I would look up the tv model and see if casting is compatible with your phone model...
I wish I had done that before I spent the 1600$ on my tv.

Samsung phones are usually widely compatible with tvs but some tv manufacturers aren't widely compatible
