Service Interruption - Vanier Ottawa

I've been around

Despite spending hundreds of dollars a month I have experienced nothing but issues since moving here. Rogers has provided no assistance. Currently there has been an outage for almost 24 hours. I cannot speak with an agent on the phone. Last time I tried I gave up after being on hold for over an hour. I hate this company and looking to switch.

Where is the updated info? The link sends you to a page that says no outage in your area. I am in Orleans and it has been out since 3 pm Saturday. They said max 24 hours we are about to hit that and have ZERO actual information. How hydro poles being knocked out caused such a huge outage for rogers makes no sense. How a fiber cable so close to the road that has such an impact on service isn't better protected makes no sense especially for those of us who WORK FROM HOME.

Please make sure you've selected the right province, @Liluna. You might not have Ontario selected as your current province.

 

If you do have Ontario selected and you're not seeing any active service interruptions, please clear the cookies & cache on your browser.

Not addressing the lack of redundancy for such a large area of Ottawa I was totally surprised the trouble reporting system is so bad.  I phoned at 3:20 wasted time with Anna and then was on queue until 3:41 and it took a few minutes for to get the results of the test for my area.  I would expect a large outage like this would have triggered some alarms especially since it is Internet and TV now.

Fortunately I am bridged I was able to tether my mobile to get Internet and TV working.  For those that do this remember to power off your Ignite TV boxes they will stream GB of data while the TV is off and can't be shutdown.
