Hello, @mread.
Welcome to our Community, and thank you for your post!
The emails that have gone missing can be troublesome. If you always use webmail and they were there for up to seven days ago, you can create a Restore Request.
Good to know points before submitting the Request:
Steps to create a Restore Request:
The above steps may slightly differ depending on if you were already logged into your email account.
All the best!

Thanks for your information above. I have a similar situation and the link you provided only seems to work if the emails disappeared less than 8 days ago. So my issue is:
Rogers Yahoo email in a Safari browser, only accessed via that browser on a MacBook.
Suddenly ALL emails from about a year ago are now gone and I don't know when that happened ( 7 days ago? or 7 weeks ago? or ....) I NEED some of those emails and have been trusting Rogers/Yahoo to keep them safely in the cloud for me.
2 questions: 1. Can I get them back and if so how? 2. How do I keep from losing more in the future?
Thanks for any help you can provide or direction to experts who can help.

Greetings @Greg402!
Often in cases like this, there's an email client on the computer that has downloaded all the emails unbeknownst to the user.
Could you please check any of the email programs installed on your computer just to be sure?
Regards,
RogersCorey
