Port Forwarding Issues

DForto
I've been around

I have been having an issue with port forwarding for some time now. I am trying to host a minecraft server for me and some friends and have opened port 25565 as this is the default port for minecraft and minecraft servers. I was able to connect my device in the Ignite Home Connect app and successfully added the port but when checking the ports it shows they are closed. I also had a friend check from his end to see if it was an issue with pinging my own ports but it shows closed for him as well. I am able to connect to the minecraft server using my local IP and have ruled that out. We also tried using a second port (25577) but are still unable to get the port open despite everything in the app saying its fine.

Any insight appreciated.

Hello @DForto

I resolved the issue. Please ensure that the machine you are using has only IPv4 enabled and IPv6 disabled. If you are using Proxmox, you can refer to this forum post for guidance.

Next, please add a static IP address to your server using the Home Connect mobile application. Here’s how:

  1. Open the WiFi menu: Scroll down to locate the device that is hosting your server.
  2. Check Device Status: If you do not see your device active, check the "Device Not Connected" section. If your device is listed as not connected, simply test the connection to make it active.
  3. View WiFi Equipment: Once the device is active, scroll to the top of the screen and click on the "View WiFi Equipment" option.
  4. Access Advanced Settings: Go to "Advanced Settings."
  5. Set Up Port Forwarding: Click on "Port Forwarding" and add the necessary port forwarding for the device that hosts your server.

I hope this helps! 🙂

Hi @RogersZia

I am encountering the same issue. I contacted technical support, but unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the problem. I have several ports successfully forwarded; however, port 25565 is not functioning as expected, while all others are working fine.

I look forward to your assistance.

Best regards

I'm having the same issue.  The port forwarding that's setup in the app does not work, they've limited our access to the modem configuration and 'simplified' opening ports, only to setup something that doesn't work.

I’m trying to port forward to host a minecraft server but regardless if I use ethernet or wireless it doesn’t work.
On the app, the device ip matches the static ip I setup and I made sure the port is 25565. My IPv6 is disabled and my firewall is disabled in the meantime so I doubt it’s because of that.
In the past I was able to port forward and host my minecraft server easily but now when I’m trying to test, it isn’t open/reachable. Should I just factory reset the modem and just use the gateway 10.0.0.1 instead of the app after resetting? Please don’t recommend buying a new router, I was able to port forward with the ISP router before, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work now.
