It might be helpful to look at the Rogers "demarcation" box, where the coaxial-cable enters your home. A bad connection inside that box could be the problem. Also, the technician should look where that coaxial-cable connects to the nearest "concentrator" box up on the nearest telephone pole. Your nearest neighbours also connect to that box. So, if there is a spare socket on that box, the technician could unscrew your cable, and screw it in to a different socket. Or, the technician could snip-off the end connector, and attach a replacement. That is a routine "fix-it".
