Ignite Router outage and updates remove all custom programming.

dservos
I've been around

We use a non-Rogers security camera service and every time Rogers has a major outage like yesterday and updates the Ignite Router, it removes the 3rd party security cameras custom programming. I'm being told by our security service that Rogers does this on purpose if our cameras are not on Rogers Smart Home services. If this is true, its monopolistic behavior and illegal anti-competitive tactics according to the CRTC regulations. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi @dservos,

Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums, and thank you for your post! We appreciate your concern and certainly understand the frustration that can go with having to set up your devices again. Are you using any other third-party routers connected to our gateway that your devices are connected to? If the gateway does reboot, it should not reset your personal device's settings. Are your devices losing connectivity and need to be reconnected to the gateway network? If you can let us know some more details, we would be glad to assist you.
