BufferBloat Packetloss

danny1111111111
I've been here awhile

I recently suddenly started to get terrible bufferbloat and packetloss while playing CSGO 2.

It is almost unplayable with the jitters and constant packetloss I'm getting. As you can see below my bufferbloat score is a C.

I had this issues years ago and I switched to bell but ended up switching back to rogers because of the good deal I got. In the last two years I never had this issue until about a week ago.

Please help me.

Hello, @danny1111111111

Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums!

Thank you for posting your concern to the community.

I have reviewed the ping test and traceroute you sent. Are these the consistent results you are getting or do the results vary depending on the time of day?

Re: BufferBloat Packetloss

I feel like this test does not properly show the packet loss I’m experiencing. When gaming it’s jumping multiple times a minute. It is worse later in the night.
The jitters I’m getting in game will go from 20-40-150-200-40-110-20 all within the minute.

Re: BufferBloat Packetloss

Have you ran a trace route to the game server you are connecting to? There is always the possibility that their server just can't adequately keep up with demand. Are you on a wired or wireless connection?

Re: BufferBloat Packetloss

I am on Ethernet wired directly to modem I had a tech come today upgrade to gen 3 modem. Still the same issue he said he sees a small issue on the line outside green box and an outside tech should come see it within the next week or so. Before he left I had ran a test and had gotten an A on bufferbloat and on speedtest I had 20 upload latency now I’m testing again it’s a C or D rating and my upload latency jumped back to 140.
