2 Wifi 1 Modem

mxnut
I've been around

I have 2 available wifi 1 modem. I see the one I have and can do 10.0.0.1 all good. However my old wifi and password still work. It's like if I had a second modem. however the old one I cannot find it or list it. It just shows up in available wifi and I can still connect to it. It's the weirdest thing.i thought I was logging in someone else but if I unplug both wifis won't connect. Can an old wifi memory stay in the system? I know ii sounds crazy but I have quadruple checked.

Hi @mxnut,

Welcome to the Rogers Community Forums, and thank you for your post! We appreciate you checking to ensure that you have gone over everything to identify what may be happening, as this is a strange issue you have presented.

To confirm, you mentioned that when you unplug the main modem, both networks are no longer available for you to connect to. Do you happen to have an additional router connected or hubs that may still be broadcasting your previous network?

Are multiple devices able to see that second network and connect to it?

By chance, do you have band steering disabled on the modem and have the frequencies split with a separate name and password?

If you can let us know some more details, we would be glad to try to get to the bottom of this for you.

Regards

RogersJermaine
