Power on to set channel

I plan to stick around

Me again.  I’ve gone through all the menus and can’t seem to find where I can set the tv to show a certain channel when I turn it on like with the digital box.  Is this possible?  Reading through previous posts it appears some are given the option, but I can’t find it!

oh how I wish I could back to digital.  Getting too old for all this newfangled stuff! 😆

There is no setting to power on to a certain channel. It powers on to the last channel it was on.

Go to settings, preferences, general, default startup channel.

Firmware changed since first response. Yes you can set the startup channel.

This option has always been there, but it doesn't work.  I just tried again to set CP24 as my startup channel and then changed to channel 25.  Turned the TV off and back on. Still on 25.

Recently discussed in the following thread:  It will go to the startup channel on reboot, but not power off/on.

Edit: I have my basement TV set to start on a channel that I don't want.  In this way I always know if the box has rebooted, or if this feature actually works some time in the future....  Otherwise it starts on the last channel, which I usually remember to put the TV on before switching it off.

Seems to be spotty. Didn't work this morning. 🤔

It doesn't ever work properly. If it appeared to work for you, it was because the power on channel was the last channel you were on when you turned off the TV last, or the box rebooted.

No, I watched it flip to the channel I set.

Hmm, OK.  Perhaps Rogers/Comcast are trying to make this work properly, finally.  Not sure why you would see a "flip" instead of the appropriate channel right away. Anyway, it's something we can keep track of.
