Trying to configure a new XIOne box.

Get it connected to the network via a personal router.

Next step is setting up the Voice Remote.  Get a voice on the TV saying do you want to continue using the voice prompts.

a) Select Yes, next is a page that says "Let's try that again.  Sorry that didn't go as planned" and error code XRE-00305.  Hitting Try Again, just repeats this loop.

 

b) Select No, get same page as above except that voice doesn't read everything.  Hitting Try Again, continues to display the message.

 

So what is an XRE-00305 error?  Only reference I could find is a 4 year old message on Xfinity.

I tried their suggesting of using an ethernet cable but that didn't help.

Modem is about 4 feet from the router.

If you are connecting it through a third-party router, you can attempt these steps found here in the Accepted Solution to see if that works for you.
