Apple TV+ app

Many of you have been asking about when we'll see an Apple TV+ app on the Ignite TV set-top box.  Check the Apps page on your Ignite Entertainment set-top box.  It's here!

Now, what we REALLY need is for Rogers to also release an Ignite TV app on the Apple TV platform.

I plan to stick around

The Apple TV + app on Ignite is now available!  I can see tv shows but not movies i have purchased.  Hopefully an Apple TV app for ignite is around the corner

I'm a reliable contributor
While the Apple TV+ app is nice to have, our smart TV already has that app built-in.

What I really want to see is the exact opposite, an Ignite TV app on the Apple TV. As well as Fire TV, Roku, and others.

This has been requested and discussed in a number of threads:

I'm not sure which one(s) you should keep an eye on for any news because people keep creating more.  😀

Hopefully, Rogers will allow this some day... but so far, Rogers has also been VERY protective of their revenues from set-top box rentals and they have only continued to increase the rental fees over the years.

I've been around

I just don't understand why we are now allowed to cast to Apple TV, but not use an app actually installed on Apple TV? What's the difference to Rogers? The ignite boxes are now obsolete, so customer experience would be much better served with an Apple TV ignite app, no?

This is totally off-topic... sorry...  but how did you manage to cast to your Apple TV box?  Using the Ignite TV app on iOS, it complains that it could not find any Chromecast devices... and if I use AirPlay & Screen Mirroring, I can navigate the app but as soon as I try to watch any content, I get a "License Issue :: TVAPP-00300" error.  With my Mac, playback also pauses as soon as I try to watch any content.

Obsolete?  I wouldn't say that.  Rogers is now shipping a new XiOne set-top box to customers... but that box, even with its updated internals, does not really obsolete the Xi6.  (And to bring us back on-topic, both now have a fine new Apple TV+ app, along with support for other popular streaming services.)

However, I am all for offering customers choices... and I hope that more, better choices are just around the corner.
