Hey Community,

Good news! On January 26, 2022, we announced that Kirkland Lake Gold, in collaboration with Rogers, is building eight new wireless cell towers to cover more than 180 km along Highway 652 between Cochrane, Ontario and Detour Lake. Reliable and critical connectivity will provide the local communities with improved service reliability and close connectivity gaps. This public network is almost all off-grid, with seven of the eight towers primarily powered by wind and solar energy.

We are proud to continue to invest and build in O.N., constructing highway connectivity projects and building critically needed networks to bridge the digital divide. The new public LTE Network along Highway 652 from Cochrane to Detour Lake will add reliable connectivity, making travel safer for everyone using the highway and provides peace of mind for community members who have camps and enjoy the outdoors along the highway corridor.

The network is planned to be completed and fully accessible by summer 2022. Stay tuned!
