A slow computer can definitely cause hindrance in completing tasks. It sounds like you're trying to set up your email on your device. Are you getting an error message when you try to set up? If yes, then what is the error message? Can you please explain how you're setting up the email account? Did you start at  rogers.blackberry.com?

if you have say a plan like "personal email" and never set up your blackberry ID on the device yet... connect to wifi and validate the ID

who is the email provider? and are you setting up email on the computer or on the BB 9810?  sounds like a blackberry device? are you aware blackberry shut down january 4th?
