I've been here awhile

Does anyone know why a Samsung s20 keeps going back to airplane and safe mode? Can't access any apps.

Hello @Bobby1975 !

We appreciate you posting your concern, here in the Rogers Community! Although I own a Samsung, I haven't had the issue you've been experiencing. It's definitely a strange one!

I took it upon myself to do some research and many articles suggest that this could be caused by a recent update or installation of an app. Did this issue begin shortly after updating or installing a new app? If so, it could be that the app has made some changes to your settings which is causing your device to stay in safe mode.

I'm assuming you've already tried going into your device settings to toggle the 'safe mode' off. Here are a few more things you can try:

1. Power cycle your device (power it all the way off, wait a couple minutes and then power it back on again).

2. Make sure your Volume Up and Volume Down button aren't 'stuck' somehow, as this could be triggering your phone to go back into safe mode.

3. Try removing any new apps by process of elimination to see which one may be causing the issue.

4. Remove the device battery for a minute and put it back in (this may help remove the safe mode)

Since I do not work for Samsung and these are only suggestions, I would also recommend reaching out directly to Samsung's tech support for advice and any further solutions! If anyone else in the community has run into a similar issue, we'd love to hear your input on the matter!! 🙂

Kind regards,
