Why am I receiving bills and other info in French???

I've been here awhile

When I signed on to Rogers, I spoke English to everyone. I naturally assumed that any documents would also be sent to me in English.

I am getting everything in French. I assume that it is because I live in Quebec. I speak French quite well but reading French isn't easy. My language is English. Please respect that and ask customers in Quebec what language they prefer. Better yet, just ask any new customer what their language preference is.

It is possible the default language preference for residents of Quebec might be French, I would not know for sure since I am not  an employee of the company, however, I do know you CAN mention your language preference of your communications to the agent at the time your account is being created and they will set it up that way. You as a customer also have the ability to call into the call centre at any time and ask to have your language preference changed upon request.

I checked m Rogers account before posting. My profile is set to English but that setting seems to be ignored.

Just guessing, but I believe the choice of language might be location dependent at least in some parts of the code. I know the web site is a bit of a mess.  As you navigate around even if you started in English you might wind up with a French or even get a page that  mixes French and English. I don't know much about recent APIs or class libraries but there may be a clue in there for the erratic or unintended behaviors.

Why don't you try calling and have the agent check the setting on your account? this might be a different setting than the language preference in the online self serve tool
