I submitted a repair request with Likewize for a device that fell in water, hit rocks, and was malfunctioning and cracked. I mailed in my old device a few weeks ago and they sent me a new phone. I thought that everything was fine and then yesterday I received a email stating that I have already been charged $800. This $800 is for a phone that I have already returned with Canada Post that Likewize is now saying that they have not received.
When I check the Likewize website, the return label that was sent to me with the return box is not available. On the email they sent related to my return, all it says is "Instructions will be provided with your replacement device". Therefore, there is no accessible online record for the return label they sent.
There is no information listed on Likewize's page for how to dispute this charge or find out the tracking information from the label they mailed me.
As a full time student living in the lower mainland, this unexpected $800 charge is devastating. The lack of information this protection service provides is upsetting in the least and feels like a scam at most. Even if the package does arrive and they reimburse me for the charge, that $800 can mean the difference between having access to basic needs.
Words do not do justice how unhappy I am with this service.
