I've been around

Hello

I am travelling to Mexico and wonder if I will be charged for incoming text messages, I won't be sending any.  I have roam like home on my plan, but don't want to use it. but would like to be able to use imessage.

Thanks

Good Day @lewiltsh

Welcome to the Community and congrats on your first post with us! Thank you for your question. With the frigid weather upon us, Mexico sounds like a great destination to venture to! ☀

While Roam Like Home is a great option for those of us who want to be able to utilize our devices abroad just as we do at home, I understand this may very well not be the ideal option for all of us. If you do receive an SMS while travelling, rest assured you will not be charged. Only outgoing SMS would incurr a charge.  To utilize iMessage, it only requires a WiFi connection to do so.

With that said, I found a super helpful blog that will hopefully provide you with some helpful tips and tricks on how to minimize roaming while travelling in the event that you do not want to use Roam Like Home here.

Hope this helps!
