Rental price increases every couple months

LJ56
I'm here a lot

When I signed my 2 year contract the price was to be fixed for the 2 years. About 6 mos into it, the monthly price started to increase. When I called it about it, I was told only the bundle is fixed, and they can increase the rental charges whenever they want. This was not how it was with Shaw. I will shop around when my term is up for sure. Too bad. I have always been a shaw customer since cable 1st came to Edmonton in the 70's.

I plan to stick around

Something else is going on if your equipment rental price is increasing “every couple months.”

There was one increase in September, I am not aware of any other increases.

I had the following on my recent bill, not related to equipment, even though I'm on a 2 year contract.  I'm in Toronto though...

I believe they have "weasel words" that allow them to do this because they are keeping your "discount" intact, or something similar.  This is in addition to the $7/mo they tried to get from me for a box rental last year, but I negotiated a $7/mo credit and I always negotiate an "acceptable" overall price at renewal time.  Annual increases are certainly nothing new...
