Why are we being charged one month in advance when we're on post-paid cellular plans?
I signed up Black Friday, Nov 28. 2024. I get a bill that charges me for that 1 day, pro-rated, which isn't a problem. Included with that bill is charges for the next cycle, from Nov. 29 - Dec. 28 2024.
Not only does this go against conventional common sense thinking, but it seems like this is a way to lose one month of billing when we decide to cancel at the end of the contract.

Good afternoon @smobrogw!
I understand that the way we bill can be confusing for some. Please allow me to clarify.
Yes, we do charge one month in advance for our services. Consider it like filling up your tank of gas before you can drive, you must pay for fuel first before you can drive on the roads.
Similarly, you must pay for the service before you can access our network.
If you were to cancel your services, your final bill would be prorated to end on the day you canceled and you'd receive a refund for whatever time remains in your final billing period.

The Rogers pay-as-you-go plan is ending December 16, 2024. I signed up for a Canadawide talk and text plan on December 3. I had $130-$150 of unused minutes. Rogers said they could not use my credit minutes and I would "lose" it (Rogers is keeping it). Now I also get a bill starting December 4 for my "fill the tank before you drive" bill.
So they're taking my existing credit and then charging me in advance as well. It does not seem fair

@egad : Please see my post in the following thread on the topic:
Please also read post 1 of that thread and other relevant posts - there was a special phone number for the migration from prepaid to other plans. I hope you got the good deal that many others did for as little as $5/month.
